Venue: Away

The U16 Boys began the Hampshire Trophy with a convincing win over the King's School scoring three goals with no shots on target to the opposition. The second game against Embley school was an end to end battle with KES going 1-0 up before high play in the sky from the opposition gave them an equaliser. KES missed many chances and finished in a 1-1 draw. KES then played Churchers where they had already qualified for the semi finals but needed to win the get an easier draw. KES started this game strongly and went 2-0 up and controlled the game very well edging out all attempts from Churchers to get back in the game.

In the Semi Finals a 0-0 draw with old rival St John's Southsea resulted in a Penalty Stroke competition. With the score tied at 4-4 after 5 each it went to Sudden Death. At the second round of Sudden Death Misha Gusev saved the St John's Penalty to allow Captain Hector Scott-Hughes to score the winning stroke of the game to send us to the final.

The final was a game to far for the boys as Thorden School played some very skilful Hockey to beat us 2-0. At this stage our brusing semi-final had taken a lot out of our team and we struggled to make an impact against a very strong team but defended resolutely. Player of the tournament: Jasper Gillum-Webb.
