Week beginning Monday 9th March

Mixed Sport

In a week where many fixtures were unfortunately postponed, Monday marked the return fixture versus George Abbott School for our Volleyball side. Following a tight victory first time around it was always going to be a close encounter. However, it was our visitors who managed to claim the narrowest of victories but that does not take away what a great performance and terrific spirit that our team played with.

Girl’s Sport

The U13A and B sides as well as the U15B sides played their final games of the season during the week but came undone against some good Seaford, Dunhurst and Bedales sides. This doesn’t take away the great strides that all teams have been making in Netball over the past term.

Girls Team of the Week – U15A Netball

A fantastic finish to the season for our U15A side with a 15-15 draw versus a very tall and physical Seafood U15 team! We began very slowly and the score at quarter time was 8-2 to Seaford! However the girls were very determined to turn it around and they fought back to 10-8 up at half time! The shooters were on fire and the defence in the second half were so focussed and by the end of the 3rd quarter the score was 12 all! We never gave up and at the end of a very tiring and physical game the final score was 15-15! Very exciting to watch! POM Yoon-Jee Nam and Fleur Marren.

Boy’s Sport

Rugby 7’s

The Rugby 7’s U16 side made the long journey over to Rodborough on Thursday looking to continue their fine run of results. In a tight game, KESW came out on top by two scores. Quinn Tierney, once again, proving himself to be a fantastic player and role model for sport at King Edward’s, Witley.

It was mixed results for the boys U12 and U13 sides as they faced up against Rodborough on Wednesday. The U12 side were incredibly slow out of the blocks and it was 0-0 at half time. However, they managed to wake up for the second half, which was a very entertaining one, as the game finished 6-2 to KESW, Hugh Morrison, Johnny Fleming and T-C Chance played particularly well. However, the U13 side showed immense rustiness having not played for so long and lost their game.

Boys Team of the Week – Badminton 1st Team

Six KESW pupils showed tremendous fire power on court and were way too strong for Worth School. 12 matches were played and we won 10! The commitment of the squad is tremendous as they soldier on with a 100% record.
